Teach the Future

Teach the Future is a student-led volunteer organisation working to repurpose the education system for the climate emergency alongside the government in various ways to ensure all students have access to climate education to support them to contribute to a sustainable world.

They are giving students aged 13-26 the chance to volunteer with them. It is a fantastic way to build valuable skills, including effective online and in-person communication, initiative, teamwork, and creativity. A lot of work is done online, a safe, secure space supported by adult staff members from SOS-UK (Students Organising for Sustainability UK).

Volunteers will get experience in a broad range of areas - including political and stakeholder engagement (meeting with UK and nation-specific politicians), website development, blog and policy writing, comms and graphic design, and event planning, amongst other areas!

No experience is necessary, and volunteers will be given training.

Climate change will impact the lives of everyone, and Teach the Future is determined to ensure that through climate education, students will be able to develop knowledge of the climate crisis and the skills, values, and attributes necessary to make a difference.
