Railcard Protest!
1st April outside Brighton Train Station from 7:45-8:15.
This protest intends to change the now existing 16-17 Railcard to a 16-18 Railcard to demonstrate against the currently unjustified train fare prices for Sixth-Form and College Students over the age of 18.
Many students travel from all over Sussex to study in the Brighton and Hove area. It is apparent that many students travel for their education via the trainline services, which are notoriously known to be unfairly pricey during peak hours, where most of our college days are. The 16-17 Railcard provides a financially supportive discount however this stops once students turn 18, causing them to use the 16-25 Railcard instead. We believe this to be unfair discrimination and that by joining student bodies together on this protest, we will be able to gain both national and media interest to support our causes. Changes may not be bought about immediately but this will help to provide the foundation of something greater, and it is so important that the younger generation join together to fight for our own benefits and rights.
To RSVP, contact donfei.qiu20@students.bhasvic.ac.uk
Date: Friday 29th April
Time: 9.45am for a 10.00am start
Room: main hall (please arrive at 9.45am as the talk with start promptly at 10.00am!)

AnthroSchools is a widening participation initiative run by UCL. They are committed to making anthropology more accessible, especially to non-selective state school audiences, and offer a range of free and open access extracurricular teaching resources and in-school activities for teachers and students to learn about anthropology in relation to national curriculum school subjects. Their current project, The Anthropo-box, is a free resource for student-led and interactive learning in the classroom and involves a one-hour session from an anthropologist or PhD anthropology student, handling artefacts and cultural objects from the anthropology department's ethnographic collection and interactive discussion and problem-solving.

Each event will take place via zoom from 16:00-17:30 and will be hosted by trainees at TS&W, who will be sharing their experiences and why they decided to take on the apprenticeship, rather than take the University route.
Why apply for an Apprenticeship at TS&W?
You acquire valuable skills and experience and earn while you learn (gaining no debts and tuition fees!)
By learning in the work environment, you develop the practical skills and understand you need to excel in your role post-qualification. This puts you ahead of the game with graduates who can lack the practical work experience you will have gained.
Gain a nationally recognised qualification
Become an essential part of the team, giving you increased opportunities of a job at the end of training.
From day one - you will be liaising with clients on real projects at real time!
TS&W believe work is about being part of a community of people who make every day exciting and who you'll enjoy working with.
