Using e-scooters

4 facts and a lie!

1) The only place you can an e-scooter can be used is on private land.

2) E-scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs), so they are treated as motor vehicles and subject to the same legal requirements.

3) E-scooters users ride are at least 2.5 times higher than cyclists

4) Sussex Police have the powers to seize vehicles if used illegally

5) A significant number of the casualties are due to the rider themselves losing control and spilling over, getting head injury. When falling off a scooter, the different centre of gravity compared to bike makes injuries especially had injuries less serious.

Email studentbulletin@varndean.ac.uk if you know which of the above statements is a lie.
