The Student Funk Band is back!

Rehearsals: Wednesday afternoons from 14:40 to 16:10

The student Funk Band is back up and running, and rehearsals will be going ahead on Wednesday afternoons from 14:40 until 16:10 after the fair.

Roles to be filled:

  • Drums

  • Bass

  • Guitars

  • Keys

  • Singers - around 3 or 4

  • Violins/String player

  • Horn section - Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone

  • Technical - to help with set up of amps, and mixing the rehearsal

I've looked through I created for Funk Band a few years ago, and I've got all parts for Valarie, I Want You Back by MJ, and Uptown Funk. I remember having Jamiroquai year with Cosmic Girl, and that was excellent, so I can resurrect that one too. I can create more sheet for other tracks, and I'm all ears on suggestions on what would be good for the group.

We're aiming for the Christmas Concert, and to have something ready to play for the Open Evenings.

All students and staff are welcome. The meditations will be lightly guided with a different type of meditation explored each week. I'm hoping to explore various approaches built on a foundation of mindfulness of the body/breath.

Benefits may include reduced stress, increased happiness and spiritual enlightenment.

Everyone is welcome!
